I am changing my engine its the same engine but my old one is EFI this one is not do i change the fuel pump?

I agree that you should take all of the external parts from the original engine and put them on the replacement. If you have fuel injection, then the pump is in the gas tank, and you need to remove the mechanical one from the replacement. Keep in mind that if you have to pass a smog check, most states will fail it if you put the wrong year engine in it. Where I live you cant put that engine in because it is older than the vehicle.|||The pump for the efi may be a high pressure one, while the one for the carby model may be a mechanical, or low pressure one.check with whoever supplied the motor, they should be able to say.|||the way to do it would be to transfer parts from old engine to new engine if it can be done getting rid of the EFI is just opening another can of worms like it may not be legal|||if ur intending 2 keep ur motor fuel injected u need 2 eliminate the fuel pump on the motor but not the electronic one in the gas tank...also use the upper and lower intake, and distributer from the EFI... again... that is if ur intending 2 keep it fuel injected
