you must check the ASD relay and the electrical circuits that accompany it. ASD (auto shutdown ) is a common problem area, if you need help mail me, further diagnostic may be beyond the scope of this forum.



sorry RAY you are incorrect here, the fuel pump is energized when the ignition switch is in the run position, this is before any crank or cam input is generated, no disrespect intended

A bad Crank position sensor will keep the fuel pump from coming on.



The ECM looks for a signal from the crank position sensor and if it doesn't get one within 3 seconds I believe, it disables the fuel pump, and ignition.



Same thing goes for the Cam position sensor at the base of distributor, but normally, the Crank position sensor, which reads notches in the flywheel for timing, is the culprit.
