Get underneath follow the fuel lines and you will find it. If you are going to cut a hole in your trunk i suggest drilling a hole and using tin snips to prevent sparks. If you are going to drop the tank I would suggest getting new gas tank straps and bolts as they will likely break when removing them.

Go for it. Risk cutting a hole thru your tank, lines or wires, create a spark, and blow your self up. Or just unbolt the 2 straps and drop the tank like normal people do
Don't be so dammed lazy. If your going to do it do it right.

Ughhhh, if I see one more person try to cut an access door to get to the pump in one of our cars I'm going to scream.

Drop the rear, drop the gas tank, if you have a lift it's easy. The hardest part is breaking the rusted bolts loose.

But to answer you question, you cut on the flat part of the trunk area, right behind the rear seats.

EDIT: LOL chevy, it's all good man...people do it, some make it look nice, like it was almost meant to be there. %26quot;Most%26quot; people hack it up so bad...which why I can't stand it. Most people don't take the time to at least make it look decent.
Tony, Man you gonna hate me.. I cut my floor to get to the pump and remove it on mine but mine is fully modd'ed, roll cage, sfc, etc etc (no cage at the time of cutting though)

To asker.. A pictureis worth 1,000 words so heres pics of where I cut
