1/2 tank of gas in it, when i put a little gas in the air filter it starts to start

Start by checking the connection on the sending unit and listen for the hum from it, then check the injectors you can test voltage with a %26quot;Noid light%26quot; (see the link below) but it should be somewhere within the sending unit, fuel filter, or the injectors. Hope this helps!

Could be fuel sender unit.

Also may be a bad ignitor if that model has one.
Check the fuel filter, the injectors, or sending units. One of these could cause your problem.
