if theres problems with the electronics, always check the fuses first. after than make sure that everything that is supposed to be connected, is connected.

Thank your dad for the pump but tell him he owes you a new car.
check the fuel injectors, and rail to make sure nothing is cloged
it could be lots of things... the battery, diturbuter cap, starter, the belt. those are some of the things i have had problems with before
Look in your car's owner's manual for the location of a %26quot;fuel pump cut-off switch%26quot; that has a red button you push in to reset it. They are supposed to trip off in a car accident, but can get tripped off anytime accidently. The computer turns the fuel pump relay on which sends electricity to the fuel pump in the fuel tank. But you also need to check for good spark using a spark tester or old spark plug like the one shown below. Here's how your ignition system works (autozone below). You can spray starting fluid into the air intake if you think you have good spark and see if the engine starts, runs and stalls to know you have a fuel problem. You should hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds when you turn the key to on (not start).

How do u know the pump works?

If your dad puts a 12v feed to the pump does the car run?
If there is no power tot he pump then check the fuel pump relay.

If nothing else straight wire it to an open fuse link where there is only power when the key is on.
Number one if there is no electric to the pump how can it work? If the pump works check the fule filter, See if you can smell gas at the carb. Then check for spark, and air filter.
Check the fuel pump relay. Turn the key on and listen for the pump. Can you hear it?
If you say the pump is working but the car is not starting. check the polarities %26quot;negative and positive%26quot; on the pump. if they are switched around the pump will pull fuel away from the engine instead of pushing fuel to the engine. still try all the other answers, i did not see this answer so i put it out there for you.
