Is the fuel pump in a 1994 Honda Accord inside the actual gas tank?

i need to have the fuel pump changed in my 1994 honda accord and i was wondering if anyone knew where the fuel pump is located.

ive heard its electrical and can be accessed easily, but ive changed the fuel pump

in my brother's saturn and we had to actually drop the whole gas tank for it.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks everyone

1. Relieve the fuel pressure.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the fuel tank filler cap.

3. Use a box end wrench on the 6mm service bolt top of the fuel rail, while holding the special banjo bolt with another wrench.

4. Place a rag or shop towel over the 6mm service bolt and SLOWLY loosen the 6mm service bolt one complete turn.

2. Remove the fuel tank, See: Fuel Tank\Service and Repair

Fuel Pump Removal

3. Disconnect the fuel lines and connector.

4. Remove the fuel pump mounting nuts.

6. Reverse procedure to install. Torque fuel pump mounting nuts to 6 Nm (4 lb-ft) . Torque fuel line bolt to 28 Nm (20 lb-ft) .

7. Replace washers as shown in the illustration. CAUTION: Do not attempt to disassemble the fuel pump, it is not designed to be field serviced.

pull the lower seat part, of the rear seat and their is probably an access door to get you to the sending unit. that doesn't make it really easy but you would not have to drop the tank.
